Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms of May 22 brought relief to the heatwave-ridden North Indians — as the mercury dropped by 11 degrees celsius the next morning.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), this is the first storm of moderate-intensity of this season. This weather is likely to continue till May 24, bringing thunderstorms, lighting, gusty winds, and rainfall in many parts of north India.
