Saurabh Gupta is the founder of Earth5R – a global social enterprise driving citizens towards a sustainable change.
Saurabh embarked upon this journey when he quit his lucrative Human Resource job at India’s leading coffee chain, to bicycle around different countries, riding more than 50,000 kilometres in little more than two years.
Over the course of his journey, he felt the need of citizens involvement in sustainable development against the increasing environmental risks which inspired him to launch Earth5R.
The Green Citizens program of Earth5R brings communities together and develops an ecosystem that coexists by playing symbiotic roles.
With help of citizens, Earth5R runs local projects that make the entire residential areas sustainable. Buildings become zero waste while creating a positive environmental, social and economic impact in the locality.
Since its foundation in November 2014, Earth5R has benefited 40,000 underprivileged families across India using upcycling based sustainable livelihood model.
In the last one year, Earth5R has brought together citizens, ragpickers and local recyclers to create a niche of community-based plastic recycling process.

Saurabh Gupta finished 50,000 km bicycle ride which he covered in two years. This distance is more than the circumference of planet Earth- 40075 km, the idea of Earth5R struck him.

Saurabh Gupta was blessed with appreciation from His Holiness The Dalai Lama for his work related to youth community on Project ‘Ganga to Nile’.
