As Per the India State of Forest Report, There is an Increase in the Green Cover of Delhi From 19% to 20%. The Reason Why There is an Increase is Because People Have Started to Understand the Importance Trees Hold in Our Lives.
Oxygen is a basic necessity which is produced via photosynthesis done by plants. Trees stand as the strongest shields in case any natural calamity strikes. They reduce the air pollution and they absorb the summer heat, thus reducing the global warming. The list of hat they give us can go on, but what do we give them?
WHY ARE TREES BEING CUT MORE THAN BEING PLANTED?
Planet Earth has limited resources, and humanity is taking more than it gives back. It’s important to give back and build awareness about giving back.
Pratisksha Motwani, Raina Moitra, Sneha Sharma and Tanvi Garg from Earth5R Delhi organised a plantation drive and environmental education at various locations at Delhi on 11 October 2015.
The best place to start is with the local ecosystem since it’s easier to take care of the plants that are nearby. It also enhances the health and the look of surrounding. The team planted saplings in various nearby parks where many kids were engaged in this activity with enthusiasm. Earth5R team educated the children on why we need to plant and protect trees.

The kids promised to take care of the saplings and water them as per the requirement of the plant. Earth5R team encouraged the children to educate their families and friends about building a greener planet.
The activity ended on a fun note with a great sense of satisfaction amongst all the members.
What is the use of a house if you don’t have a decent planet to put it on?
