Volunteer Environmentalist, INDIA
Manasi Deshpande is studying at Nowrosjee Wadia College, Pune. Although pursuing Psychology, she has had been passionate about Environmental Studies. Getting in touch with Earth5R was a fortuitous coincidence and she is happy to make her own little contributions in making this world a better place. Manasi is a creative person with penchant for designing which she gets to employ at Earth5R, all in an eco-friendly manner! Creating awareness about the environment, recycling, upcycling have always caught her interest and is spirited about doing something productive with her skills. She has participated in various activities and Environmental events – like Kabaad ka Jugaad and has won the second position.
Since her school time she has shown prolific leadership skills and went on to win the ‘Student of the Year’ award by the Times Of India- NIE. She takes great interest in sports and is also an animal-lover. She is also inclined towards art- painting, sketching, creating items out of unusual things. Thinking out of the box is what she is inclined to and a routine makes her dull; hence, she always finds herself doing new things.
By now, she has participated and conducted several events with Earth5R including the river clean up. She conducted workshops with girls and taught them to make bags and other articles using old clothes, gunny bags and other things that are easily available to them, free of cost. Recently, she assisted in organising a workshop of coffee art and leaf art at Hexaware along with other Earth5R members.
