“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

  — Frederick Douglass

It is a little disheartening that the academic system followed by government/municipal schools fails to match with the standards of the private schools. There is an immense need for improvisation of the education standards, as quality education can help in improving the plight of the children, to a great extent. Quality education does not only promise a good future but also inculcates better understanding and awareness.

Being a part of the Earth5R team, Prince is training the government school students. He takes Spoken English classes for these students. Realizing the required attention towards environment, on 24th November, 2015 he decided to teach the students of 6th class at Thimmaiah Reddy Government School, about the 3 R’s-Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.

Students learnt about how they could reuse the waste in a creative manner and enjoyed some related activities. They made creative things out of old newspapers and waste papers. Girls showed their origami skills and made the Japanese fan and snake while a few boys covered their old science project creatively with old papers.

They also learnt about the alternate ways to reduce waste, like, by using paper bags or cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Lastly, he told the students about how paper waste is recycled and reused in the form of chart papers, books and card boards. Students were inquisitive and enjoyed the entire session. Children’s participation in ‘Bracing the Future Gen’ session was not only a step taken by Prince towards change but also, children’s first step towards change.
