E-Waste Awareness Programme

You will be surprised to know that though India is a developing nation, it is the 5th biggest producer of e-waste in the world!

With growing technological advancements and ever increasing dependency on them, the problem of e-waste management has also reached a crucially high stage. India is the 5th biggest producer of e-waste in the world and about 1.7 million tonnes of electronic waste is produced across India. Carrying this thought in mind, on January 17, 2016, Arunima & Shriyanshee of Earth5R Patna team went to Prasad Apartment Complex, Kankarbagh, Patna and asked mothers and their kids to join them.

In the course of their activity on e-waste awareness, Earth5R team explained the importance of e-waste management and made people aware of various e-waste drop off points available across Patna.

Later, they provided kids with drawing sheets and colours, asking them to draw their ideas about saving our planet. Both, the kids and their mothers were very enthusiastic about the activity and appreciated their efforts. They also asked to arrange for more of such activities. One of the kids also came up with a slogan- ‘Think blue and Act Green’ and it gave Earth5R team a good sense of their sensitivity.
